Hatches screwed and kitted with marine kit.

Unsatisfied with the first try, I have remade the bulkheads this month.

A friend, Stide, came round last week and taught me how to measure properly before cutting the bulkhead off the mould. They fitted far better this time round after his advice.

Yesterday my neighbour JanWillem helped me drill the holes for the hatch covers ( a perfect fit) and today I glued the bulkheadsinto the boat.

I want to make my boat more buoyant so that if I practice Freestyle and capsize, it should be easier to right and empty the water out.

My idea is to make a bulkhead which is watertight and also can act as storage for small items by incorporating a round hatch door in the vertical part.

Have made a mould, glued on some strips and epoxyed it to make it rigid. Later I will have to cut and fit it to the boat. It should fit underneath the deck plate.
