Home canoe building

August 2007

Wanted to build a solo-boat.

Uses - Canadian style canoeing, day trips, Freestyle, short treks, flat water.

Love my Bell Flashfire (but too short for day trips) and also like Mad River Independence.

Boat must have a small amount of rocker, about 15 foot and not too wide.

Have searched the net and decided to build either a Merlin from Northwestcanoe or a Soul-Mate from Carrying Places.  Still need to order the plans

September  10 2007

Have ordered plans for a 15' Soulmate. Plans arrived today.
