Boat is now ready for launching.

Fixing the seat in the boat - the last job to do!

August 28 2008

Floated the boat tonight and paddled on a pile of foam blocks to determine the best seat position (front to back) and height. Marked off with Duck tape.

The boat handles beautifully.

Mountings for the seat, cut, shaped, drilled and varnished.

Seat is now varnished and puzzeled out how to thread the rope.

Since it is too cold to work in the garage, decided to try and make a seat. Took the dimensions from an existing seat (see  photo left)  and am making it using cherry wood because a friend gave me some pieces.
